We are known as one of the oldest firms in the Republic of South Africa. Established in 1907, we have grown from a small firm to a company currently employing 5 professional attorneys, 1 paralegal, 1 senior consultant, and a support staff of 14 people.

We are centrally located in Kroonstad, situated at 25 President Street, Kroonstad. Our legal team has over 85 years of legal experience between them, which enables us to offer a diverse range of legal services.

Director

Gerhard obtained the following degrees at the University of Pretoria :  BLC (1985), LL.B (1986) and HDIP TAX (PRAK) (1996)His articles were completed at the firm Ross & Jacobsz in Pretoria, and he was admitted as an attorney in 1990. He joined Du Randt & Louw during 1991 and was admitted as a Conveyancer in 1998 and as Notary in 2000. He also obtained his tax qualification.His specialties include conveyancing, estate planning and tax matters, and he has obtained the right of appearance in the High Court during 1996. He has been the head of our conveyancing department for more than 30 years and has an intrinsic understanding of conveyancing and a uncanny ability to find solutions for complicated legal problems. Gerhard has been part of the Kroonstad community since birth and is a respected and accomplished farmer when he is out of the office.

Wynand Botha

Director

Wynand obtained his B.Comm (law) in 1992 and his LL.B (cum laude) in 1995, finishing his articles at the firm Symington & de Kok in Bloemfontein. 

He was admitted as an attorney in 1997 and has been an integral part of our team since 1998. Wynand specialises in Deceased Estates, Commercial law as well as criminal law. Hs ability to assist clients with estate and commercial problems in an efficient and thorough manner is unmatched and his expertise obtained over the years makes him indispensable. 

Melize Kachelhoffer

Director

Melize obtained both her B.Com. (law) and LL.B. degrees at the North-West University in Potchefstroom in 2006 and 2008, respectively.  Melize completed her article clerkship at Breytenbach Mavuso Incorporated in Bethlehem in 2009 and was admitted as an attorney on April 23, 2009.  On February 11, 2010, she was admitted as a conveyancer and public notary, during which time Melize joined Cloete & Neveling Incorporated, an attorney firm in Harrismith, as head of their Commercial & Property Department.  Melize joined Du Randt & Louw Incorporated in October 2019 to practice as an attorney, conveyancer, and public notary. She specialises in property, commercial law, and deceased estates. Melize is also the first female director in the history of our firm, and we pride ourselves on her ability to take charge and provide effective legal services without discrimination to both our small and largest clients.

Marne Minnaar

Director

Marne is our youngest and most recent director. She is a dynamic and energetic attorney, working hard to obtain the best results for her clients. Marnè obtained her LL.B. degree at the North-West University in Potchefstroom in 2018.  Marne completed her article clerkship at Du Randt & Louw and was admitted as an attorney in 2020.  Marnè specialises in civil and criminal litigation.

Melisa-Coreen Wentworth

Melisa obtained her LL.B Cumm Laude from the University of the Free State in 2014 and was admitted as an attorney and notary on February 16, 2017. Melisa has been with our firm for more than 8 years and, as a result, has gained extensive understanding and knowledge in many fronts of the law. She has excellent communication skills and currently practices as an attorney and notary, specializing in civil and criminal litigation, family law, CCMA, and related labour matters. She also has right of appearance in the High Court since 2023.
